Oh how I wish I could have the Leica M6! What a beautifully designed camera. The lens is to die for....you could pretty much take a picture of anything and it will look great.

The Kerouac Scroll is going to be at the Boott Cotton Museum in Lowell beginning June 15th and I can't wait. No...I'm not a beat and he's not my generation and not even my favorite writer but if you have ever read any of his books....you feel a connection. You feel like here's someone who gets it! I've been screaming in my mind all my life what Jack had already written. It's the Idea. There's a quote I like to misquote..... I love both of these bags because they can fit alot of stuff and they're really nice. I take the Nikon Coolpix because it's small but nothing beats a nice film camera for nostalgia.....i'm caught between the two camera types. I bought the Kiev on Ebay for $20. It's cheap but it has an awesome lens on it!!!

So It's been a while. This is how my desk looks this week. I'm still working on the book but things slowed down for a while. I opened a couple of the Epica journals for display but normally they sit on a shelf until I use them. Got a new Seagate to store everything. I love this little hard drive. I take it everywhere!

I came across a can phone in a creative arts magazine and It got me thinking about technology and communications. This can phone would have been something of a phenomenon in the early days of the telegraph. An entire theory developed around this very artifact which pretty much revolutionized telecommunications. Just think.....two cans and a string!! [Sound waves, signal transduction, converters, physics, etc.] Two Cans and a String!!!

The Flying Oliver

This is the Oliver typewriter that I got from a really cool antique store in Cambridge about 3 years ago. I love the way that it looks. It's very unique (notice the placement of the striking bars) and when you type really fast it looks like it's going to fly off of the table. When I got it, it was so dirty that I didn't even know it was green. It doesn't work as well as my Royal or Corona but I got it for it's aesthetic quality. It's a bit rusty. I couldn't polish it up to complete perfection but it makes for a great conversation piece and it puts me in the writing mood. It took me about a month to clean it up.....best month I'd spent in years!
